In a totally miraculous turn of events, we had snow on the ground here in Texas on Christmas Day! None of the weathermen predicted it; in fact, they even said there was a 0% chance of any snow on Christmas. A few flurries were predicted for the morning of Christmas Eve, but that was it. We've never had a white Christmas in this area of Texas. Never. It snows about once every 10-15 years, but never on Christmas. This time, there were small flurries all day Christmas Eve, and then around 7:00 p.m., it started snowing steadily. Snow fell off and on until after midnight, and the ground was just cold enough for it to stick for a while. So when we woke up Christmas morning... | ||

Our front yard didn't have as much on the ground, because the trees caught most of it. | But there was plenty in the back yard! These darker pictures were taken at 6:00 a.m., when I wasn't sure whether the snow would last long once the sun came up. Fortunately, I was wrong. | |||
