On August 18th, 2003, Charis went to her first day of Kindergarten!

Here's a brief recap:

Everyone knows you need a good meal before starting school.

Chocolate cake? Sure, why not?

"I'm ready!"

We were expecting Charis to be super-nervous, since she's always been shy (she still hardly won't talk to anyone at church!). But she sure surprised us by being calm, cool, and collected!!

When we left, she was paying close attention to her teacher. She gave us a little wave as we left the room.

As the door closed, who burst into tears?

KURT!!

He reached toward the door and cried out, "Reeese!!!!"

He cried half the way home...!

Upon her return, Charis showed off what she learned.

By Day Two, when asked, "How was school today?", she already had the standard answer down: "Fine."

And so the adventure begins!
