Reader Comments on GI Joe: Iconoclasts

"It's great to see something like this serious diorama series developed into thebest it can be, which is what I think you've acheived. The story is very good I think, and the stealing of the US Commandmants :) is a cool idea, which definitely feels like something from a mix of the cartoon and comic. The shots and angles for the scenes are great!" - Rod Hannah

"You have succefully captured and elevated some of the most endearing aspects of the 80's G.I.Joe mythos, and have most capably carried it on for us fans. Your writing and plot artfully emulate Mr. Hama's comics (that's a compliment! I think his work was spectacular for these characters) and your visual storytelling takes me back to afternoon television (I can practically hear their cartoon voices!). Your meticulous work and clever sense of humor pay capable tribute to everything that made G.I.Joe enjoyable (especially to me). I commend you and wait eagerly for more." - Nathan A. Richart

"Just wanted to drop a line to tell you how much I like Iconoclasts!! It is one of the best joe diorama series I have seen. It reminds me a little of the early G.I. Joe stories in the comic book, very serious and realistic." - Mark

"You really defined the reality that GI Joe had potential for during its run.. Cobra Commander;s strategy, while having a touch of comic book super villainy, was brilliant.

Mercer's character was by far THE-BEST. When I read his first pieces of dialogue, I almost fell out off my chair in shock. His attitude was exactly like mine, not too concerned and downright disaffected by die-hard patriotism.

But, when he made that sacrifice during his capture by Gristle [on top of the Terrordrome] it's like he affected ME. Let me tell you, its a weird feeling when GI Joe refuels your appreciation for your country. :)

The Iconoclast is hands down the best GI Joe 'toy-based story' there has ever been... Or ANY toy based series for that matter." - DestronXR

"I guess I'm pretty late in the game, but I just finished reading your dio-story "iconoclasts". I love it. It has a real thought out and detailed plot. Most diorama series that I have seen just rush right into the fighting, but yours is really believable. It was like watching one of those G.I.Joe mini-series on TV from way back in the day." - Ben Asselin

"WELL DONE! Your story was awesome! I can't believe how well you combined detail, humor, and a great story line! At times I was laughing so hard I almost fell off my chair. Great work on explaining the whole Mercer thing, too. You did great, even down to his reason for growing a beard! Your story could fit in with any other Joe tale. I'm sure Larry Hama would be proud. As a former U.S. Marine, I loved it! I hope to view more of your work. Thanks for sharing your story with all of us." - David Giovannini

"I've just finished going through Iconoclasts- all parts. It's great! It's very cinematic- hoping you'll do a sequel, maybe involving some of the new Joes..." - akasis

"Just thougt I'd drop you a line. I stumbled upon your G.I. Joe story and got completely hooked. Being a 21-year old uni student now, those dioramas sure got some memories flowing...I'll be sure to dig up that box of Joe figures - or Action Force as I call them - in the attic next time I visit my parents." - Johan Persson, Sweden

"I just looked at the first 2 parts of Iconoclasts and I think it's awesome! It brings me back to the days when i was a kid watching the GI Joe cartoons. I want to thank you for bringing back memories. I'm not a big collector or anything but I think you have a great collection of figures. I'll be reading more parts soon!" - LaughingSombrero

"Hi, I just wanted to say that I saw your GI JOE web site today and thought it has the best dio- stories I've ever seen. I myself am a collector of GI JOEs, and appreciate stories like this." -Japanrules02

"I went to check out your site and it is way cool! I like that you have a sense of humor about it all." - Larry Hama

"Just finished viewing your gi joe iconoclasts comic/movie thing. I'll have to say as an original fan I was captivated. I'm 27 and remember buying the first few issues of the comic. The writing was interesting and your storyboarding was excellent. I like how you use seldom used joes." - Frank

"That was awesome!!! I've never read anything like that before!! I was on the edge of my seat and readily wanted more!! It's not too often now that you get an adreneline rush when reading something, but this is definetily one of those times!!" - Scot

"Thanks for having great dio stories. I almost fell on the floor laughing at the behind the scenes part. Thanks again." - Dustin

"I just got my new computer and DSL connection working properly, so I thought I'd cruise over to your site and finish Iconoclasts to help lather me up for Resurrection! I had originally gotten to the part where the Lincoln Memorial blows up, then my slow connection irritated me too much and I stopped reading. But I finished it today and I'm glad I did. You can really work in some great sequences. I loved the taser bit at the statue of liberty. It was inspired. Also your use of the ANNHILATORS though brief was cool. They looked great in flight!!" - Dillon

"Tim, I just finished reading your Iconoclasts story. It was truly fantastic! I haven't read your other one yet, but I'm sure that will be great too. You managed to capture the feeling of the comics very well. You work inspires me to try and write a Joe story of some kind. Keep up the great work!" - Chris

"I just finished Iconoclasts and I had to write. Great job! Your use of digital imaging and the Joe toys was fantastic! Great writing, lots of drama and tension, heroism. And the humor was great.... not too much to make it ridiculous, but enough to remind everyone that these toys are what they always have been: fun! Trip Wire tripping into Shockwave... priceless! I'm gonna head over and check out ressurection. Thanks for doing this, and thanks for making my day!" - Kenn Beck
