The Flagg shots also had a problem - the windows. My USS Flagg is set up in my garage. When I use the flash to get good resolution on these pictures, the windows are all blacked out (which would have been fine if this scene was at night, but it isn't). I didn't use the flash on some earlier Flagg pictures and it shows - they're too blurry. Using the Polygonal Lasso Tool, I carefully traced the edges of the windows. To be sure it was okay, I went to the Select menu, and used the Grow command to bring it out an extra couple of pixels. A separate photo provided the sky. I copied it and then used the Paste Into command to fill the windows. (When did Mirage join the Fantastic Four?)

Close-up shots of the Skystriker are easy - I held it with one hand and took the picture with the other. For the blurred ground shot below, however, I had to cut the Skystriker out from the background (using the selection tools) and paste it in as a new layer. Then I applied a Motion Blur to the entire background layer.

The ejection shot was a lot of fun. What I really like about the way this one turned out is that not only does it look vaguely realistic, it looks like what the toy might look like if it really had an ejection feature! It actually includes part from four photos, shown below. From the first, I copied Ace and his half of the cockpit (with the Selection tools), and pasted it in on the second photo (which I had to edit some tree branches out of with the Clone Tool). I cut out the back half of the cockpit from the third picture and Chuckles with the chair from the fourth. I added separate layers with Motion Blurs for the cockpit and Chuckles, and the text effects, of course. A little white smoke using the Eye Candy Smoke filter added the crowning touch!

I hope you've enjoyed all this, and that it has been a help to some people. Remember, this is just the technical stuff. First make sure you have a good STORY!! Otherwise, it's just pretty pictures.
