Every one of these was a quality entry. If I could, I'd use all of them! Many thanks to all the guys who entered! You did some extremely creative work here, both with the figures and the bios! The judging was extremely difficult. After input from the other two judges, I had to make a decision narrowing down the last three to the last two winners. It was NOT easy. It finally came down to which of those characters I thought would work best in a story, which ones had the most potential for interesting storylines. If you didn't win, thanks for entering, anyway. You get to keep your figure! (heh...) I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these others pop up in other dio-stories in coming months.
But enough of that. You want to know who the winners are. So without further ado...

Way to go, Buzzchuck and Pluv!!! Look for these two characters to show up with Mercer and friends in a new short dio sometime!!
Here's what the rules were, in case anyone's forgotten: 1. To enter, you must create a custom figure and that character's name and background. 2. Each character must be a former member of Cobra (or a Cobra affiliate such as Iron Grenadiers). There must be some indication of the character's former job. The most obvious method would be by using part of the previous uniform for the custom, but other methods could be more creative, such as a tattoo... 3. To enter, please submit a good quality photo of your custom, together with the character's bio to my email address. A link to a website is acceptable as well. 4. All entries must be received by August 13, 2005. 5. Figures may be ARAH-style or "new sculpt" style and may include parts from other toy lines. (but see the following rule) 6. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: quality of the custom figure, creativity of the character creation, and how well the character "gels" with the existing Renegade characters. An overall "coolness" factor may be considered, as well. 7. Judges will be General Hawk of generalsjoes.com, beav of joecustoms.com and me. In case of a dispute, I have the final vote. :) 8. A special thread is available on the message board at joecustoms.com where you can submit questions or discuss ideas. 9. Two winning entries will be chosen by August 20, 2005. The winners will be contacted by email first. Upon response to the email and agreement to the conditions, the winners will be announced both here and at joecustoms.com. If a winner fails to respond within a week, I'll go on to the next runner-up. 10. The winners will mail their figures to me. The figures become my property and will not be returned. Both characters will feature in a major way in the upcoming Renegades story and could continue into future stories if the demand is strong and their stories are interesting enough.
